Minor Champions 2010 - Pirates

The Minor Championship went to two games. The Minor Pirates were favoured going in, having been undefeated in the playoffs. However, the Minor White Sox showed some grit and determination by taking the first game 6-5. The 2nd game saw starting pitcher Efrain Romero go 2 2/3 innings, striking out 7, and giving up one run. Josh Rosenfeld came on in relief to pitch 1 2/3 innings giving up 2 runs and striking out 4 for the win. Jesse James Bourdeau finished the game off, pitching 1 2/3 innings and striking out 3. The three pitchers combined for a no hitter. Player of the game Darius Jackson hit a grand slam inside the park homerun in the bottom of the 3rd to lead the Minor Pirates to a 6-3 victory over the Minor White Sox and win the Minor Championship.
